The Conference of European Rabbis is deeply saddened to announce the passing of its beloved executive director, Rabbi Avraham Moshe (Aba) Dunner ZT”L who was niftar on Sunday evening at his home in London. Rav Aba was 74 years old.
Rabbi Dunner had over many years been the leading activist for the cause of Orthodox Judaism in Europe and was widely loved and respected across the Jewish World.
He had been seriously ill since returning from the United States shortly after Pesach.
Born in Konigsberg in 1938, Rav Aba was the eldest son of the Rosh Beis Din of the Union of Orthodox Hebrew Congregations of the United Kingdom, Harav HaGaon Rav Yosef Zvi Halevi Dunner Zts”l.
Called to assist the Conference of European Rabbis by its late president and Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom, Harav Lord Immanuel Jakobovitz Zts”l, Rav Aba was at the heart of the building and strengthening of Jewish institutions in Europe for over 20 years.
The Conference of European Rabbis sends its deep condolences to Aba’s wife, Charlotte, to his children, and to all his family.
